AISECT is India’s leading Social Enterprise aspiring to be a global leader in skilling and education with our presence in Africa and Middle east is working in the areas of Skill Development, Higher Education, Financial Inclusion, e-Governance and other ICT-based services to bring about an inclusive change in the semi-urban and rural areas of the country. Established in 1985, the Bhopal-headquartered organization has been untiringly reaching out to the remotest corners of the country since the past 33 years to empower people, generate employment for the youth and unfold entrepreneurial initiatives.

With the vision to unfold and expand AISECT is now available in Africa and Middle east. Using the experience gained in India AISECT is in the process to replicate the successful model in new geographies.

The AISECT Model is a multi-purpose, self-sustainable, scalable and entrepreneurial model that addresses the demand of local communities for various skills and ICT-based services required in the unorganized sector. The organization has a strong presence in 475 Districts, 1500 Blocks and 7200 Panchayats across 29 States and 3 Union Territories through over 20,000 Centres, 12 State Offices and 28 Regional Offices. Till date, it has imparted skills-based training to over 20 lakh people, created employment opportunities within the network for more than 75,000 people and empowered the lives of over 50 lakh people through various innovative products and services.

AISECT has partnered with the National Skill Development Corporation to offer skills-based training to 13 lakh youth by 2020. Under this partnership, 12 vocational training academies have been set up that offer over 150 low cost, high quality University certified undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate and diploma courses. AISECT is also executing a number of Central and State Government skill development projects including the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), has partnered with 12 State Skill Development Missions and has joined hands with 13 Sector Skill Councils to develop relevant training modules in association with industry experts for 100+ Job Roles as per QP-NOS based curriculum.

The AISECT Group of Universities has established four premier universities at locations that were in dire need of quality higher education ecosystem. These include the Dr. C.V. Raman University in Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), the Rabindranath Tagore University in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), the AISECT University in Hazaribag (Jharkhand), Dr. C.V. Raman University in Vaishali (Bihar) and the Dr. C.V. Raman University in Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh).

AISECTMOOCS.com is India’s largest free online open learning platform while RojgarMantra.com addresses the entry level manpower requirements of private and public sector enterprises at the small town, district and block levels. AISECTOnline.com is a one-stop window that makes various digital services accessible to the common man in the semi-urban and rural milieu.

Under financial inclusion scheme, AISECT works as a National Business Correspondent for three nationalized banks and two Regional Rural Banks. The AISECT Banking Kiosks also offer a host of services under Government schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, etc. The organization’s ongoing e-Governance initiatives include working as a UID Permanent Enrolment Centre, establishing 27 Lok Seva Kendras (LSKs) at block levels in Madhya Pradesh, managing 114 E-Mitras in 5 Districts of Rajasthan and working with the State Bank of India for rolling-out its Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) Project across 370 Toll Plazas on the National Highway. B2C services like mobile and DTH recharge, examination form download and submission, railway ticket booking, data entry operations, Online VISA Application Services, etc. are also offered through the AISECT network.

About Case Studeis/Projects

NVTI

National Vocational Training Institute(NVTI) was formed to cater the requirements of vocational training requirements of the youth of Ghana. Now it has been renamed a TVET Services Ghana

TVET

TVET as service was formed in order to align the various Agencies and Departments that were under 9 Ministries which were providing Technical and Vocational Education and Training under one umbrella, ''now the Ghana TVET Service under the Ministry of Education''

TVET objectives are:

  • Provide young people with the skills that will make them employable, enhance their livelihoods, and create wealth—for example, through the One District, One Factory (1D1F) initiative.
  • Ensure skills and TVET are the drivers of development across the country.
  • Enhance the Ghanaian workforce to make them globally competitive.

AISECT Ltd Ghana has been associated with TVET Services as a Skill Knowledge Partner and has been working closely to launch courses in multiple vocational trades.

Ministry of Skills Ghana

The Government of Ghana with the support of the World Bank has developed the Ghana Jobs and Skills Project (GJSP) to support jobs and skills for individuals in the country, to be implemented for a period of five (5) years.

The objective of the project is to support skills development, upgrade and jobs for Ghanaians. It also aims at helping the government to better respond to the imperative of creating more and decent jobs for the youth and rapidly growing labour force.

The project comprises multiple activities that promote the employment and productivity of workers, as well as initiatives to strengthen the efficiency and capacity of government agencies for the various activities to be implemented under the project.

Ministry of Skills, Togo

Economic development in Togo is slow. There is limited industry and dependent employment. Around two thirds of the population make their living from agriculture. Young people in particular, who make up the majority of the population, are finding it difficult on the labour market.

Togo’s Government aims to restructure the country’s outdated vocational training system and turn it into a modern dual training system to ensure that graduates of the training courses meet the requirements of the private sector and find employment.

The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE):

The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE) is Ghana's first Advanced Information Technology Institute (AITI). It was established in 2003, through a partnership between the government of Ghana and the government of India.

The centre also houses West Africa's first supercomputer. The meeting and lecture rooms as well as the 802.11 wireless network guarantee that the AITI can host close to 1000 people at any given time.

AISECT along with their partners has setup a state of the art Robotics lab to train students of Ghana in Robotics and ICT

Pentecost University:

The Pentecost University is a private university located at Sowutuom in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. It was founded by The Church of Pentecost (COP) and evolved from The Pentecost Bible College

Currently, the university has four Faculties namely, Faculty of Engineering, Science and Computing (FESAC), Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), Faculty of Theology and Mission (FTM) and Faculty of Health and Allied Sciences (FHAS). It also has to its credit the Pentecost University Graduate School (PUGS) and the College of Foundation and Professional Studies (COFOPS)

AISECT has a signed MOU with Pentecost University to launch their vocational courses for the students of Pentecost University

University of Ghana:

The University of Ghana is a public university located in Accra, Ghana. It the oldest and largest of the thirteen Ghanaian national public universities.

The university was founded in 1948 as the University College of the Gold Coast in the British colony of the Gold Coast. It was originally an affiliate college of the University of London, which supervised its academic programs and awarded degrees. After Ghana gained independence in 1957, the college was renamed the University College of Ghana. It changed its name again to the University of Ghana in 1961, when it gained full university status.

The University of Ghana is situated on the West view of the Accra Legon hills and at the northeast of the centre of Accra. It has over 40,000 registered students.

University of Ghana has partnerned with AISECT to work on a Hub and Spoke Model where the facility will be provided by University of Ghana and AISECT will be the Skill Knowledge Provider

Achivements and Awards

Owing to these endeavours, AISECT has won numerous awards and accolades at prestigious national and international platforms. It is listed in a World Bank-IIM (A) Joint Report as “the most sustainable and scalable form of IT penetration & popularization in India”.
It has also been recognized by UNDP for its innovative ICT-based vocational training to youth in rural and semi-urban India.
It is also among the top cases chosen for the Case Study Compendium 2015 of the Sitaram Rao Livelihood Asia Case Study Competition.
